Drinks Marquee
The drinks marquee will have a welcoming bar with a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic cold beverages, and it will host the Yorkshire Dales Real Ale and Cider Festival.
Thanks to everyone who entered the Name the Festival Ale Competition. The winning entry was King o’t’ Dales with its Richard III connection. This was proposed by Mr Farley, a regular visitor to the Festival. So why not come along and sample this new Ale for yourself! The runner up entries were Yore ale and Tan-a-Dick.
Paul Sowden is a well known member of the local music scene in the North East and has performed at the Stanley Blues Festival and Wallington Hall supporting ‘Lindisfarne’. Now in ‘retirement’, he is Musical Director of the annual Leyburn Pantomine and sings in the East Witton Male Voice Choir. He will be performing on Saturday and Monday in the Drinks Marquee promoting two charities close to his heart: Macmillan Nurses and Marie Curie.
Real Ale and Cider Festival
New for this year Daleside Brewery are introducing a new Special Ale at the Festival.
Craig Witty, Head Brewer at Daleside Brewery created the beer, named by the winner of the competition, you can taste Craig’s new beer, created to match the winning beers name, “ King o ’t’ Dale Ale”. Craig believes he’s captured in his brew the style and flavour of ale from the times when the young Richard III spent his early life in the Dales around his home of Middleham Castle, Wensleydale.
Also available will be their usual refreshing brands of hand pulled beer. They are also producing their first Lager which will be available at the Festival.
There will be over 40 beers offering different styles, tastes, colour and strengths. There will be at least 8 different Yorkshire made ciders; please watch this space!

Our aim has always been to offer wines that are a little bit different along with good old fashioned service and advice. We specialise in wines not commonly found on the high street, along with beautifully packaged and unusual wine gifts.
As well as the retail side of the business through the shop, Amazon account & our Web site, we have a number of trade customers around the region who we supply on a sound, consistent basis - by the case, mixed case or bottles, delivered to the door, to suit their needs! Although we are not masters of wine, we have acquired a fair bit of knowledge on our travels around the globe and are passionate about the wine we sell. If you require a particular wine which we do not currently offer – please let us know and we’ll be happy to source it for you!
