We are pleased to welcome back Members of the Otley & Yorkshire Dales Branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association. In past years they have demonstrated these ancient skills with displays of walls, pillars, a sheep fold, a mountain shelter, stiles, sheep holes, a 2.5 m high waterfall and the dry stone bridge which has been rebuilt at the Ballowfields Nature Reserve in Wensleydale. For 2012 they are planning a very different work of art - come along and be intrigued.
Hedge Laying. Each day John Hulbert will demonstrate this country skill, as vital today as ever.
The North Yorkshire County Council Composting Campaign demonstrated the various ways that waste vegetable matter from your house or garden can be turned into a valuable fertiliser.
Ladies in Pigs. A group of ladies involved in the pig industry want to share with you their Passion for Pork, not to mention bacon and ham as well. They will offer recipes and delicious free samples of their cooking.
Make a Pizza at The Pizza Farm Cart. The Pizza Farm is part of a traditional Vale of York farm which grows cereals, oil seed rape and energy crops and grazes sheep.
The Pizza Farm consists of The Discovery Tunnel and Pizza Wheel, an education resource where school children learn about food production, sustainability and the natural environment.
