Sheep Shearing Demonstration
Sheep Shearing Demonstration

In the livestock marquee we have a selection of farm animals, typical of the animals found on dales farms. These are:

Holstein and Beef calves
Jersey calf and Jersey cross Hereford calf
Variety of pigs
Wensleydale sheep
Jacob sheep
Swaledale tup with Swaledale ewe
Bluefaced Leicester tup with Swaledale ewe and mule lamb
Texel tup with mule ewe and butchers lamb
Pheasant chicks
Goat and kids

Twice during the day there will be a talk about the animals and their function and place in local agriculture. A local shearing contractor will demonstrate the art of sheep shearing each day.
